Bog Oak Paring Knife - Damascus
That we must eat is reason enough to eat well, and the best food comes from hands that find joy in what they are making. As one who loves to make food, I make my knives from the perspective of a cook that knows the luxury of a perfectly smooth cut, and it's what I bring to your kitchen.
My mother was my favorite chef growing up, so as I develop my kitchen catalog I've begun modeling my designs after the blades she's relied on most over the years. This is her paring shape and it measures just shy of 4" with a razor sharp convex grind. The steel is Alabama Damascus featuring 416 layers of 5160 and 15n20 alloys. The handle features copper liners with ancient bog oak scales that are carbon dated to 5,460 years old, and a few copper pins. Overall length measures 8 1/8" and it comes in a Cunninghammer zipper case with free shipping.
