Graphite Black Micarta and Musk Ox Drop Point
This knife is a triumph all it's own. I put alot of work into forging the blade to shape from 52100 round bar steel. When I first started out with Ed Fowler, it would take as many as three hours to get one right. Things move a little faster these days, but I put the same care and TLC into each one just the same. After the triple heat treat cycles were complete and I was working in the grinds, I realized I was going to have to lose some of my stamp to get the bevels right with the ricasso but I chose to finish the job anyway. The pocks elswhere in the steel are leftover hammermarks, and despite the stress-risers, it passed my hard-using tests. Blade measures 4 1/2" from tip to guard with a razor sharp convex grind and a finger choke ricasso. The brass guard is soldered in place over black, vintage brick, white, musk ox horn, and slate fiber spacers over a graphite infused black canvas micarta handle. The brass pin runs through the tang and overall it measures just shy of 9", plus it comes guaranteed for life in one of my hand stitched pouch sheaths. Bang!
I have knocked down the price to accomodate for what have proven to be cosmetic-only issues.
