Italian Olive Wood Damascus Kitchen Combo

Originally, what you see began as a request for a single utilitarian do-all in the kitchen. The client felt that paring knives are too small and most standard chef knives just slightly larger than necessary- this blade shape falls into that sweet spot right in between and measures 6" from tip to guard. The damascus steel is 416 layers of 1095 and 15n20 alloys and features a razor sharp convex grind. The copper guard is cold-forged, staked, and soldered in place above black, maroon and copper spacers with gorgeous olive wood that's pinned through the tang with copper. Overall length measures about 11 1/4" and it is a true dreamboat. When cutting out the blade shape from the Damascus billet, the leftover steel looked like a little cleaver that made me think of charcuterie, so for kicks I made it (3 1/2" blade). The gentleman that ordered the original blade loved the pair, but I will gladly take orders without, with, or with another companion.
