Maroon Micarta EDC Drop Point - Shop Second
Since I started making knives in 2013, my style preference and experiences have always left me partial to smaller blades- in knowledgable hands (and when properly made) they can work wonders. This drop point is fit for an every day carry on the hip, but without a second thought I would use it to carve up a moose. I forged it to shape from a 5160 2" bar that was originally a John Deere load control shaft which guarantees a consistent and predictable quality of the metallurgy. Once shaped and rough ground, the blade is triple quenched in Texaco type A quenchant and triple tempered, among a few other heat treat steps that I'm willing to discuss if one cares to inquire (including post-forge normalizing, annealing, freezing, etc). The free hand convex grind is razor sharp and it measures 3" from tip to brass guard which is staked and soldered in place. Handle includes black, maroon, white and grey vulcanized fiber spacers with a maroon linen micarta handle. Overall length measures 7" and it comes in one of my custom arrow-stitched pouch sheaths.
I ground the bevel through the maker's mark, so discounting this one down from the would-be msrp but she's fully guaranteed otherwise.
